Updates:

If you subscribe to updates on this site, you’ll get only the updates about Hank, and your email will not be shared or sold. I anticipate less than two updates per month. See the posts below for the frequency of updates.

We never expected to have Hank for very long.

When we first rescued Hank from the streets, I requested assistance from the animal shelter because my older animals struggled with his puppy-like energy and behaviors. When combined with my family’s personal life factors, I didn’t think we could be the right fit. However, it became clear that with our love, patience, and daily training sessions, Hank grew attached to our family, and we to him.

So this is the final update: Hank is home; Hank has always been home, is a part of our family, and we are not looking to get rid of him ever. It was WILD RIDE with the shitty “rescue” who only wanted to use Hank as a literal publicity hound, which you can read over at HankArmy.com.

Thanks to all for supporting this crazy journey.

For a while, this website was defunct, as I didn’t want to give more publicity to the “animal rescue” but people have reached out to me personally, requesting that the site be restored for a variety of purposes – from teaching classes, to re-reading it for joy, or desperately searching for answers on whether Hank was adopted. In the end, it was clear that the people wanted this website back.

So, the website is back and will remain online, and the links leading to the “animal rescue” have been changed to Hank’s new website HankArmy.com, although I foresee no future updates to either website since Hank has always been our forever dog.

As always, adopt don’t shop, be a good person, and don’t go to sleep with your contact lenses in.

Love,

Hank and family

Hank is still available for adoption, and the rescue is now considering adopters outside of the Houston area, if you’re willing to travel to meet him.

Hank is taking to his training well and he has either mastered or is working on the following commands:

  1. Sit
  2. Stay
  3. Shake (then “other paw”)
  4. Down
  5. Up
  6. Wait
  7. Go to your house
  8. Touch
  9. Bow
  10. Speak
  11. Look
  12. Gator
  13. Kiss
  14. Fetch
  15. (ringing a bell to go outside)

Second Meet & Greet with Potential Adopter #1 was still questionable.
